The purpose of this blog is to know and understand the teacher's perspective concerning current issues on education reform and the teaching profession. Inputs from the ones who probably knows what is best for students academically -- the teachers -- are rarely considered in decision making of policies. Yet, these so-called education experts and lawmakers dictate how we do our jobs and what we should teach. That's not right!

Profile: SOS Million Teacher March

For more info on SOS Million Teacher March, please visit its website, like its Facebook page, and/or follow it on Twitter.

On a personal note, if there is one organization that I am really excited about right now, it is this one. A grassroots organization started by Illnois teacher Chris Janotta, the intent of SOS Million Teacher March is to mobilize teachers and their supporters as well as to demand the following from the government and community:
  • Respect for teachers
  • Fix NCLB
  • Fair funding for ALL
I have been following them since its inception earlier this year and I wholeheartedly been supportive of its causes and efforts. Hopefully, you will too. Finally, SOS Million Teacher March are planning a march of its own next summer; more info to follow...
